The emergence of web servers for ecommerce, online storage, and communication has made disk servers critical applications. Availability and speed are wellknown metrics for disk servers, but power consumption is becoming increasingly important. Answer the questions about configuration and evaluation of disk servers with the following parameters.
Find the maximum sustained I/O rate for random reads and writes. Ignore disk conflicts and assume the RAID controller is not the bottleneck. Follow the same approach as outlined in Section 6.10 making similar assumptions where necessary.
